20250514 - Yu Chan - Resurrection

I've been playing Puyo Puyo Fever 2 on PS2 a few days ago.

While Aruru/Arle and Draco Centauros are my favorite characters since Puyo Puyo 2 for Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, Yu-chan is my favorite girl of the Puyo-Puyo Fever cast.

Here I drew the shouts/spells for all the "rensa" chains (or combos). The "Eternity" one, as you can see, is shouted by Yu-chan's twin brother, Rei-Kun, and I was convinced all these years that it sounds like that; because it was meant as a joke: making Yu-chan's voice being serious/sad/depressed just for that one spell, as she's always happy and positive, it would caught the player off-guard. But it was not the case, it was the only spell shouted by Rei-Kun on that game.
On the following entries of this series of games, some spells are shouted by Yu, and others are shouted by Rei.

I decided to include Rei-kun as well in these drawings, even if the spell/shout for "Eternity" is unused in the PS2 game, it was implemented in sequels. And after all, Yu and Rei appear always together starting from game 2 onwards, so it is about right to keep him in this collection of spells. They look nice together.

Estuve jugando al Puyo Puyo Fever 2 de PS2 hace un par de días.

Aunque Aruru/Arle y Draco Centauros son mis personajes favoritos desde Puyo Puyo 2 para Sega Genesis/Mega Drive, Yu-chan es mi chica favorita del elenco de Puyo-Puyo Fever.

Acá dibujé los gritos/hechizos para todas las cadenas "rensa" (o combos). El de "Eternity", como pueden ver, lo grita el hermano gemelo de Yu-chan, Rei-Kun, y estuve convencido durante todos estos años de que sonaba así porque era una especie de broma: hacer que la voz de Yu-chan sonara seria/triste/deprimida sólo para ese hechizo, ya que siempre está feliz y positiva, algo que sorprendería al jugador. Al final, era que se trataba del único hechizo que gritaba Rei-Kun en todo el juego.
En las siguientes entregas del título, algunos hechizos son gritados por Yu y otros por Rei.

Decidí incluir también a Rei-kun en estos dibujos, aunque el hechizo/grito de "Eternity" no se implementó en el juego de PS2, se incluyó en secuelas. Y aparte, Yu y Rei siempre aparecen juntos desde el segundo juego de Puyo Puyo Fever, así que me parece justo que aparezca en esta colección de hechizos. Quedan genial los dos juntos.
